ABOUT THE ADVISORY
About Israel Cross-Border Family Law Advisory
Personal experience. Practical perspective.
When your family life spans Israel and another country, it helps to speak with someone who understands the human side as well as the practical challenges. ICBFL provides independent information and strategic guidance to help you organise your situation and consider your next steps.

THE STORY BEHIND ICBFL
A personal journey that became a mission
No family should have to navigate an unfamiliar system without clear explanations.
Gabriel Lior, LLB, MBA, is an American father, entrepreneur and cross-border advisor. His experience of the Israeli family court system brought him face to face with the challenges that foreign parents and international families can encounter: custody, support, property, immigration and relocation.
Language barriers, unfamiliar procedures and decisions involving more than one country can make an already difficult family situation harder to manage. That experience shaped the advisory’s purpose: to help people organise the facts, ask useful questions and approach their next step with more understanding.
Gabriel now lives in Singapore with his son. His personal experience informs the empathy behind ICBFL; every family’s circumstances and legal options remain different.
From personal experience to a broader perspective
Alongside his experience as a parent, Gabriel pursued legal education in Israel and business education in the United States. His background combines Israeli legal studies, a BA and MBA, and international business and negotiation experience.
He has worked across Israel, the United States, Europe, Africa and Asia in business development and commercial leadership. For ICBFL, that background supports a practical focus on preparation, communication and coordination. Academic qualifications and personal experience do not make ICBFL a provider of legal advice or representation.
WHAT WE HELP YOU DO
Make sense of the situation before deciding what comes next
Our advisory and intake process focuses on the information, questions and coordination that can help an international family prepare for the next conversation.
Organise the facts
Bring together the countries involved, the main concern and any known deadlines in a clear summary.
Understand the next conversation
Identify the questions and documents to discuss with an appropriately qualified lawyer.
Find relevant professional support
Where appropriate, we can introduce independent lawyers in Israel or abroad and help coordinate communication.
Who we serve
Our focus is family matters involving Israel and another country, whether you live in Israel or overseas.

Working with independent lawyers
Family matters across borders may require lawyers in more than one jurisdiction. Where appropriate, we can introduce independent firms whose areas of practice and location are relevant to your situation.
Any legal advice or representation is provided by those lawyers through their own firms and under a separate engagement. Their availability, scope of work and fees should be discussed directly. ICBFL does not promise a particular outcome.
Clear expectations from the outset
Our role
ICBFL is based in Singapore and provides independent advisory and informational services. It does not provide legal advice or legal representation.
Your relationship with a lawyer
Any attorney–client relationship is formed separately with an independent, licensed lawyer. Contacting ICBFL does not create one.
Scope and fees
If paid advisory support is proposed, its scope and price should be explained before you agree to proceed.
Let’s start with your situation.
Share the countries involved, your main concern and any known deadlines. A short summary is enough to begin.
You do not need to send sensitive documents at this stage.
Independent advisory and informational services. Legal advice and representation are provided exclusively by independent licensed attorneys through their own law firms.
